About Us

To navigate pathways to success within levels of stability and self-sufficiency with social supportive services necessary to exist and sustain without judgment and without bias.

When a caterpillar is emerging from the cocoon, it must have a period of time to build strength in its wings. If the butterfly is released from its cocoon before it's time, its strength will diminish and it will not be able to survive on its own.

The name - Lady Butterflies - was chosen because just like a caterpillar has many layers to shed before it becomes a beautiful butterfly - a girl has as many layers to shed before she is considered a woman. In life we all go through the stages of transition. It's the choices and decisions we make to determine when we EMERGE. TRANSITION. EVOLVE. into a colorful butterfly.

Lady Butterflies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization founded on February 19, 2010. Since our founding, we’ve been dedicated to empowering women and teen girls through programs and services that uplift, support, and inspire lasting change. Our initiatives are accessible, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community care. They consist of:

We are the 'help center' - the 'one-stop-shop' for needs without regard to income, race, religion, age,

sex, mental or physical disabilities. You don’t need to qualify or join a membership to access our initiatives.

As of 2025, we are expanding our mission across the U.S. by offering virtual and state-specific social support initiatives designed to empower women and teen girls. With current operations in the City of and Metropolitan areas of Columbus, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia, Lady Butterflies is actively expanding its reach, with a bold vision to bring our initiatives to women and teen girls to every state.
